Open Data
With Law 4305/2014 and Law 3448/2006, the principle of open availability and re-use of public sector information is established. Public sector bodies are required to make their documents, information and data available for further use, unless access is restricted under the exceptions provided by legislation.
Data must be available as structured datasets in machine-readable formats so that information can be identified, recognized and extracted through software applications.
Open data policies contribute to the transparency of public administration and encourage the broad availability and re-use of public sector information, with minimal or no legal, technical or financial restrictions.
The General State Archives publish datasets every year in the Public Sector Open Data Registry (www.data.gov.gr) by issuing the corresponding data release decisions.
The datasets are produced by the Central Service and the Regional Services of the GSA and mainly concern research tools exported from the @ρχειομνήμων software, as well as statistical information and other useful data.

The documents, information or data should be Structured datasets (Datasets) In a machine-readable format so that, through software applications, specific data can be easily detected, identified and exported, including their internal structure. Open data policies contribute to transparency at public administration and encourage the wide mood and the Further use of information of the public sector for commercial purposes or not, with little or no legal, technical or financial constraints.
In this context, an important parameter is license provided by the public body, as well as the availability of data via the Internet. The GAS, applying this legal framework, post data sets each year in the Register of open data of the State (www.data.gov.gr), issuing corresponding disposal decisions.
The data sets are created by the Central Service (KY) and the Regional Services (P.Y.) of the GAS and concern, in the largest percentage, research tools as extracted from the software @archeommeni, as well as statistics and other useful data
