The GAK, as a national archival body, works for the Implementation and dissemination to the general public of the basic principles of the World Archives Declaration (English and Greek), as approved, in 2011, by the UNESCO General Assembly during the COVID-19 pandemic, UNESCO’s “Memory of the World (Mow)” secretariat worked to clarify The conceptual and practical connection between documentary Heritage and pandemics.
In this context, an important joint announcement co-signed by both UNESCO and its important internal and external partners, such as the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, was made public. (IFLA), the International Council on Archives (ICA), the International Center for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and the Co-Ordinating Council of Audiovisual Archives Associations (CCAAA).
